Ghostboy giveaway

Experience the darker, daring and downright dirty side of cabaret with two of the hottest acts on this year’s fringe festival circuit, with a delightfully debauched double feature extravaganza of new shows from Ghostboy with Golden Virtues and The Freak and the Showgirl at the Judith Wright Centre this March.

We have two double passes to give away to this show of local legends. If you are keen, post a comment in the form of a short poem (limericks will be looked on favourably ;) ) explaining why you should get the tickets.

About the Author

Beck has a penchant for collecting things with little to no practical value; vintage alarm clocks that are missing their winding pins, 18 carat gold trimmed teapots that can’t go in the dishwasher and books on obscure and irrelevant topics like Know Your Rodent, History of a Bottle and Explanations of Confusing Rap Lyrics You and Your Grandma Can Understand. At The Edge she is the collector of style guides and government-style forms and takes great pleasure in asking people to capitalise the ‘t’ in The Edge.

I wish to have some mighty freebies
ones that can give the heebee jeebies
    of grand cabaret music
so great, I might just lose it
and now I find I’m writing absurdities

    :)

  2. There once was a girl from Frank Street
Who everyone thought was quite sweet
    But little they knew
Oh, how soon they would rue!
Once she launches her bloody coup

So give her the tickets – it will keep her distracted for a little bit longer!

    Towing a line,
I dragged my lover to Woodford Poetry Slam,
    Sublime-

The Powers gave him a bib,
and he scored poems, one to ten,
    ad-lib;
    They dubbed him “Cockforth”
and Grinded against him, asking if he ‘felt moist?’
    (a little..)

So please may I have tix to amend for my crimes..

To the Judith Wright Centre we’ll go
    For your excellent cabaret show.
    With the one I adore
    I’ll enjoy it much more
‘Cause in March, it’s our birthdays you know!

  5. Beck Waite says:

Thanks all for your lovely rhymes
Reading them gave us great times
    But a choice is required
    To select two winners, admired
For their skills, worth more than a dime

Congrats to Sue (happy birthday) and Melissa (please don’t hurt anyone!) – I’ll email you details shortly.

  6. You may yet live to fight another day :-)

Thank you for the tickets, she said sweetly.
