    INTERNATIONAL CALL FOR ARTISTIC RESIDENCIES 2012
    Open call for the International Artistic Residency Program of Marginalia+Lab, a medialab located in Belo Horizonte, Brazil, to occur between June and November 2012.
    Four residents – artists, amateurs, researchers and enthusiast from several fields- will be selected to develop experimental proposals in art, science and technology, during the period of two months: two proponents from Brazil and two international ones.
    To the selected proponents it will be provided a fee and development structure, besides accommodation and travel assistance for those who don’t live in Belo Horizonte.
    The online submission for brazilian proponents close on May 20, 2012 and for international proponents on June 10, 2012.

    The 2012 Arts Queensland Val Vallis Award for Unpublished Poetry is now open for submissions.

    The Arts Queensland Val Vallis Award for Unpublished Poetry is committed to encouraging poets throughout Australia. Now in its 14th year, this prestigious prize for an unpublished poem (or suite of poems) of 100 lines or less comes with a total value of $4,000. Entrants may submit multiple entries with up to three poems per entry. Entries close by 5pm Tuesday 10 July 2012.

    1st Prize : $1,000 plus 1 week fully paid at Varuna Writers House
    2nd Prize : $500
    3rd Prize : $250
    Entry Fee : $20

    Surfers Paradise Festival is proud to announce the addition of the Shorts in Paradise Film Festival (SIPfest) to the 2012 festival program.

    Filmmakers from around Australia are invited to submit their short films to the festival judges, who are looking for cinematic masterpieces under 10 minutes in length.

    SIPfest is open to all genres – everything from documentary to animation – and will play to a broad audience so we want films that would earn nothing higher than an M rating.

    The final date for submissions is Friday June 1, 2012. Entry is free.

    Human Ventures is seeking a Client Development Officer for our lowercase initiative, a social enterprise by and for young people.
    A bit about the role of Client Development Officer – lowercase
    Reporting directly to the lowercase Co-ordinator and Human Ventures Creative Director, the Client Development Officer will play an integral role in the ongoing development of this initiative. The Client Development Officer is responsible for generating sales and marketing the initiative to a diverse array of clients. They will identify and engage new clients across the corporate, government and community sectors, and re-engage current and past clients.
    Working with the lowercase Coordinator; Creative Director; and the General Manager, the Client Development Officer will also establish, nurture and grow external and internal relationships and communications with clients.
    Ultimately, the success of the role will be measured by the profitability and sustainability of the lowercase initiative. The CDO will have the opportunity to make the role their own and to flourish within the organisation. In addition, there is the potential for this role to develop into a full time position if a sufficient volume of work is generated.
