I’m thinking of running some sessions at lab 3 purely regarding music producing starting from basics if people are interested? It won’t be much complicated sound engineering stuff since sound engineers would be better with that. My sessions would be more about … well. other things

Lets Win A 3D Printer!

I’m hoping to find up to 3 other members who can assist me in putting together entries for 2 current competitions that are offering 3D printers (quite a few ) as prizes . One of the competitions , the 3D Printing Systems Design Challenge 2012 by 3D Printing Systems is a monthly event that was posted in Opportunities for you by Beck Waite a couple of weeks ago. The other is the ”Make it Real Challenge” on instructables.com that ends 30th of this month and has 11 printers up for grabs

I have an Idea that I would like to enter in both by the end of the month, what I need is assistance with the following:

1) Think tanking and refining the idea (or scrapping it for another)
2) Computer design skills particularly with STL file formats
3) Producing A quality 30 second video presentation (simple but powerful)
4) A personal assistant for me – Someone to take notes, carry my briefcase, vet my calls etc

Ok , Ok, I accept that one of the above is a big ask, so I’m happy to compromise with 3 out of 4 … the think tanks not that important !!

My idea is extremely simple (which is what I like most about it) so I’m not overly concerned by the deadline, however i know nothing about generating the file format or availability of suitably skilled members for that and the AV content.

When we win , those who have contributed can have unlimited access to the printer etc .as well as my new custom made girlfriend – which is the first thing i am going to make with it !

I have a residency coming up in April at the Powerhouse to work on some interactive dance and film pieces with my collaborative group and I’m looking for anyone who has some experience hacking with Xbox Kinect. I can’t guarantee any paid work this time this is our second residency and we are eligible for a few grants coming up so would be able to offer funds then.

I want to be able to experiment with Music, Dance and Interactive Visuals so I’m looking for someone willing to experiment around with code to see what can be achieved.

I am currently teaching myself how to develop mobile apps on the iPhone. Looking for like minded people (with or without iOS experience) to get together and work on a real commercial product I have in mind to submit to the app store. In particular looking for programmers and game artists.

not exactly groundbreaking stuff but I was wondering if anybody was keen to produce generative video art for some different band-based projects my friends and I work on.

Most of the music happens in Brisbane but we’re also keen on the Goldcoast and other areas. I guess the plan is to create a more inclusive environment with visuals.

There are a few projects ranging from experimental rock through to ambient classical guitar weirdness and electronica.

We don’t make much money out of this so it would just be for the love of it and experience (plus a few drinks and a cut of what we make).

Venues would vary as we are after a long-term partnership.

Any kind of style of art is welcome but something generated or interactive with the music would be a major plus.
