NICTA Blimp

Edge opening
During the Edge opening NICTA provided a range of activities designed to attract attention and create interest in the Edge. The focus was on showcasing the capabilities of the “Physical and mobile computing” lab. Activities included the:
NICTA blimp: The NICTA blimp can find it’s own way around the place, by continuously measuring the distance to the ground and adjusting its height. A custom-built twitter interface allows people to “tweet the blimp” from their phones in order to display different colour combinations. The purpose of the blimp during the Edge launch was to create interest and showcase the use of micro-controller platforms for engaging interactions.
