Guest post by Sabrina, from the Photography in Brisbane meetup
Do you have a smartphone? Do you want to learn to express yourself in a new way? Then join our mobile photography and storytelling meetups where we will share, discuss and develop the views that different communities have of Brisbane.
I am a passionate believer in the power of photography to connect people by allowing them to convey meaning beyond words. While I have always loved photography, it was only about two years ago that I took my first picture on a smartphone after a good friend insisted. Since then, I have found joy and taken solace in mobile photography – something I’d like to help others discover, too.
The meetups are free and open to all members of the public. They run every third Sunday of the month, from 4.30PM to 6PM. Simply sign up online. At the end of the meetup series, in April 2018, a selection of works that have been developed by participants will be exhibited at the Richard Randall Art Studio for all members of the public to appreciate.
I look forward meeting you at our next meetup.
