Journalism
Journalism is in crisis, or so we are told. Yet it seems clear that there is an ongoing demand for the traditional functions of journalism. The platforms of production, distribution and interaction are radically changing as are patterns of consumer behaviour, thanks in large part to the internet and its associated technologies.
The Edge will host a multi-faceted exploration of new platforms for journalism in all aspects: acquisition, curation and filtering, plus distribution, product design, and physical presence on the street. The daily newspaper, as invented in the 19th century, may well be under threat, but news, newspapers and journalists have a future.
