Facility Induction: 3D Printer

February 11, 2018, 1:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Book and use the 3D Printers for free, once you’ve successfully completed your induction.

The Edge’s open access Makerspace and Fabrication Lab provides the equipment and tools for your curiosity and imagination to come alive. In the basement you’ll have access to a range of resources and equipment including: CNC Router, Laser Cutter, Sewing Machines and Overlockers, Hand Tool, Soldering Irons, Vinyl Cutters and more!

To gain access to this equipment, successfully complete a safety induction on your chosen resource, and then it’s yours to book and use it free of charge.

Your Induction. In this induction you will learn how to safely operate our UPmini 2 3D printers, making your own personalised key ring to take home. You will learn what you can achieve with our printers, how to make your designs 3D printer friendly, how to operate the printer, how to identify problems and what to do when problems occur.

  • Participants must be over 16 years of age
  • Enclosed, flat footwear must be worn at all times
  • Please register for an Edge Account before you arrive. You will need an account to complete the induction, assessment and make bookings for the equipment

Before you book, please read our Short Courses FAQ. You’ll find answers to age restrictions, what to bring, what to do if you’re running late, refunds and more. For more detailed information, please refer to our Booking Terms and Conditions.
