The Edge’s open access Makerspace and Fabrication Lab provides the equipment and tools for your curiosity and imagination to come alive. In the basement you’ll have access to a range of resources and equipment including: a CNC Router, Laser Cutter, 3D Printers, Hand Tool and Soldering Irons, Vinyl Cutters and more!
To gain access to this equipment, successfully complete a safety induction on your chosen resource, and then it’s yours to book and use it free of charge.
Your Induction: In this induction you will learn how to safely operate our sewing machines, making your own sunglasses case to take home. You will learn how to thread a machine, how to sew different stitches and safe use of the pedal.

Where: Fabrication Lab, The Edge, State Library of Queensland
– Participants must be over 16 years of age
– Enclosed, flat footwear must be worn at all times
– Please register for an Edge Account before you arrive. You will need an account to complete the induction, assessment and make bookings for the equipment
