This 2 x 4-hour workshop series blends contemporary digital fabrication techniques with the warmth and hand-made charisma of “block print” wallpaper reproduction.
In the first week, we’ll run you through the basics of Adobe Illustrator – this will set you up with the skills to design and fabricate using a range of equipment at The Edge (Laser cutter, CNC Router and 3D Printing). From there, we’ll customise repeatable wallpaper block prints that can be cut on the laser cutter.
In the second week, you’ll cut your block print designs on the laser and use these to produce your first roll of wallpaper!
No prior knowledge is required, as we’ll take you through the whole process from A to Z.
It is important to note, that this is a two-part workshop, and to complete your wallpaper, you’ll need to attend: Part 1 on Sunday 19 November 2017, and Part 2 on Sunday 26 November 2017. Also, please ensure you wear enclosed, flat footwear to both sessions, as we’ll be working in the Fabrication Lab.
Before you book, please read our Short Courses FAQ. You’ll find answers to age restrictions, what to bring, what to do if you’re running late, refunds and more. For more detailed information, please refer to our Booking Terms and Conditions.
