Industry Connect is a new music program bringing music industry professionals from around Australia to regional Queensland to help anyone interested in building a sustainable career in the music industry.
QMusic’s Industry Connect program is designed to help early to intermediate career musicians and workers get the knowledge, relationships and opportunities they need to succeed!
Places are limited in each masterclass, so register your interest to attend.
Masterclass 4 // Amplify
The Masterclass series is a condensed format of the full Industry Connect program with four intensive sessions throughout the year.
The Plug In Masterclass: Building A Team vs. DIY, Why Should I Give You Money, Know Your Product
- Saturday 25 November
- The Edge, Innovation Lab, Level 1
Building a Team vs. DIY //
Many early career artists think getting a manager, agent or publicist is going to solve all their problems. We explore some case studies to better understand the benefits and limits of the DIY approach, and how to go about attracting the interest of support people when the time is right.
Why Should I Give You Money?
So you know what you want to do, but you don’t have any money to get started. The competition for public arts funding is higher than ever before. What makes for a competitive grant submission or successful Kickstarter campaign?
Know Your Product //
You might think you’re a musical genius, but that doesn’t mean anything unless you’re offering something other people want. Participants in this workshop will learn how to think about their musical product in terms of design, brand and aesthetics. Graphic artists, photographers and videographers will speak about creating clear and sellable visual content to partner with musical products. This workshop will be followed by a networking session with local film-makers and other visual artists.
