The Dark Art of Ant Husbandry

September 22, 9:00 am - 12:00 pm

There are about a million ants for every human on the planet, but their private lives are usually hidden and mysterious. Making your own formicarium is a way to observe, learn and form a meaningful relationship with these ubiquitous neighbours. Ants are low-maintenance pets that will not chew up your shoes and thrive on an inexpensive diet. Learn what types of ants thrive in captivity (and where to get them), how to keep your colony happy, and build them a palace. You’ll be taking home your formicarium and if you choose to purchase a queen with your ticket, go home with a nest of new friends.

Please note that the tickets with the queen ant will go off sale on 14 September, to allow time to place the orders for the workshop.
