Guilloche patterns are the swirls and curls you find on the front of banknotes, the back of expensive Swiss watches and underneath Spirograph wheels. In this workshop you’ll assemble a machine that uses two turntables and a pantograph to create an intriguing variety of these mesmerising patterns, all powered from a standard USB socket – something a little like this.
Mathematics, art, and making combine to produce a unique Christmas gift, or a new holiday pastime.
Experience: Nope, none required, just a willingness to play.
